About Me

For 34 years I was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (has it really been that long?) serving residents of the Raleigh-Durham area; having earned my Masters degree from UNC-Chapel Hill after 6 years experience in an inpatient psychiatric hospital teaching unit. I was fortunate in being able to work with and learn from the late Fred Melges, MD, Pat Webster, MSN, William Meyer, LCSW, David Larson, MD and others.
Going forward I will be offering non-clinical coaching consultations. (see note on home page)
Other professional activities included:
Organizing conferences and workshops for psychotherapists.
With Mark Bailes, founded and co-created Psychotherapy Resources Network, a very informative website for local resources. To see this resource go to: www.psychotherapyresources.com
Helped to organize and manage professional nonprofits providing administrative, membership, marketing and meeting support.
Helped many couples via Lutheran Family Services build their families through adoption ... a profoundly rewarding experience.
Past appointments include:
Adjunct Faculty for the UNC School of Social Work, Field Instructor for the UNC School of Medicine - Family Medicine Program.
Teaching faculty of Hopeline of Wake County and for the North Carolina Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
President of the Hypnosis Society from ‘91-’93 and ‘95-’97
Family:
For 43 years I have enjoyed the company of my wife, Kim, a relationship that provided us the opportunity of bringing 3 great kids into this world and watching them grow. And a wonderful daughter-in-law and now two grandchildren. Where did the time go?
