I woke up recently and was aware, even before my eyes were fully adjusted, that there was a list of tasks and activities that needed my attention. Thinking of it all at once was a bit overwhelming at first. So I let go of that initial "reaction" and after a shower started "planning". I made the list. Then "prioritized" with the most important items highlighted. Then I picked 3 of them and the challenge began. Can I stay focused on the most important items without getting distracted by less important activities?
On this day I did well. Other days, maybe not. But, having an " interesting" distraction can provide a nice break for your brain if you are engaged in difficult or stressful tasks. Just keep it short and understand why you are doing it.
This aspect of planning is central to most business and personal activities and you will find advice on it in all the books. It is an essential skill. Good luck.
